Fund raiser for American Cancer Society's Relay For Life. This Saturday May 4 in the Walmart parking lot. 8 food trucks, music, fun & food. All proceeds benefit Relay For Life.

Food Drive
The United States post office along with the city and rural letter carriers of Chico are having their annual food drive this Saturday May 11th to help benefit four local food banks. All you have to do is bag up dry and/or canned foods (non-perishable) and leave them near your mail box for pick up by your letter carrier or bring it to the post office on Vallombrosa avenue. Together we can stamp out hunger!
Durham's 96th Annual Parade
Saturday May 11th, 2013. May Day Parade and Picnic. Take part in this historical tradition! Silent auction, cake walk, horse shoe tournament, and food booths. If you would like to enter a parade float or volunteer your time during the event, please call the recreation office @ 345-1921 for more details.
Supper Club
Butte Humane Society Supper Club is hosted this month at Gen Kai Japanese Restaurant and Sushi Bar. Gen Kai will donate 15% of the sales made that night to Butte Humane Society. June 5th, 2013 4:30pm- 9:30pm.
5th Annual Relay for Life of Oroville
Be a part of this free community event. Support the fight against cancer. The scheduled events include a DJ, Zumba class, comedian, live music, ad Karaoke. R.A.D Festival
A fundraiser supporting the Recreation and Dreams for Kids with Cancer (R.A.D) program at Caring Choices. Sunday, May 19th from 12:00pm- 3:00pm. at The Oakmont, Independent Retirement Community.
7th Annual Bike Chico!
BikeChico! is coordinated by the Butte Bicycle Coalition (BBC). Events highlight bicycle safety as well as fun, from workshops on cycling safety and bike repair to bike skill rodeos, fun rides, film and music nights, and a bike garden tour.
Highlights include: Bike to school and work week May 6-10th. Women on Wheels May 6, 13 & 20th.

California Dream Week
California Dream Week is awarding 9 scholarships in high education scholarships to winners of the California Dream Week sustainability competition. Winners will recieve funds during the California Dream Week Festival in summer 2013. Go to californiadreamweek.org to register and learn more about this amazing opportunity.
Academic Self Defense
An Academic Self Defense program is starting at Azad's Martial Arts Family Center. The program provides youngsters from Grade 1-12 with special after school academic tutoring every Monday-Thursday from 3-4:30pm. It's a FREE program that offers help in all subject areas including Basic Math and Calculus, Science, Reading, Writing, English, etc. Parents must call at least 24 hours ahead to pre-register their children for each session, to guarantee a spot for tutoring.
