Not A Sure Thing But, Still Be Prepared

Some in our general area received some snow for Christmas and now it seems there might be more on the way for those living in the area foothills as low as 1000 feet. Possibly lower in some spots.

LOW SNOW LEVELS EXPECTED OVER NORTHERN CALIFORNIA LATE TODAY
AND TONIGHT...

A COLD PACIFIC FRONTAL SYSTEM WILL BE DROPPING THROUGH NORTHERN
CALIFORNIA THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT. ALTHOUGH THIS IS NOT A
PARTICULARLY STRONG SYSTEM...IT WILL BE UNUSUALLY COLD BRINGING
LIGHT SNOW DOWN TO ELEVATIONS NOT OFTEN SEEING SNOWFALL. AREAS
FROM ABOUT REDDING NORTHWARD...MAY SEE LIGHT SNOWFALL BELOW THE
1000 FOOT LEVEL BY LATE THIS AFTERNOON AND OVERNIGHT AND POSSIBLY
DOWN TO JUST THE FEW HUNDRED FOOT LEVEL DURING THE MONDAY EARLY
MORNING HOURS. ALONG INTERSTATE 5 NORTH OF LAKE SHASTA AND THE
HIGHER ELEVATIONS OF 299 WEST OF REDDING...1 TO 3 INCHES OF
SNOWFALL ARE POSSIBLE OVERNIGHT. FARTHER SOUTH...SNOW LEVELS WILL
LOWER OVER NIGHT WITH LIGHT SNOW POSSIBLE DOWN TO THE 1000 FOOT
LEVEL ON EITHER SIDE OF THE SACRAMENTO VALLEY. FOOTHILL
COMMUNITIES COULD SEE ANYWHERE FROM A LIGHT DUSTING TO AN INCH OF
SNOW DURING THE EARLY MORNING HOURS.

IF TRAVELING OVERNIGHT OR EARLY MONDAY BE AWARE OF THE POSSIBILITY
OF SNOWFALL AT LOWER THAN NORMAL ELEVATIONS. ESPECIALLY SLICK
ROADS AND INCREASED TRAFFIC ACCIDENTS MAY BE PART OF THE MONDAY
MORNING COMMUTE IN THESE AREAS.

If you are out traveling tonight or early tomorrow morning be prepared for possibly hazardous conditions and allow
yourself a little extra time to reach your destination. You can always get more detailed weather information at the following locations.
