As another school year is fully underway in a post Camp Fire world, the return to school for some signals the return of a sense of normalcy.   Others aren't so lucky.  For the staff and students of the Concow School District, the start of a new school year has been anything but normal.  The district has moved their K-8 grade students to a single location  with classes being held at the old Golden Feather School located in Spring Valley at the corner of Pentz Road and Hwy 70. The facility had been closed for many years and as the new school starts, the need is great.

Azad's Martial Arts & Family Center along with Mix 95.1 and many of you guys stepped up to help fill part of that need.  This past week, hundreds of backpacks stuffed with pencils, paper, notebook, rulers, eraser and a multitude of other much needed supplies to help the students and their parents start the year off with one less worry.

Josh Peete the principal and Pearl Lankford the executive assistant accepted the donations on behalf of the students many of whom are transported to the school from various areas of Butte County.  Some of these students still have no permanent place to call home, but still attend classes regularly in a facility that still needs a lot of help.
